| Dinadi was founded in 2016 by Canadian-Swedish duo Preston and Mirjam Thiessen. After living in Nepal for several years, they started Dinadi with the belief that social entrepreneurship and job creation are the way to bring lasting change to communities. Dinadi’s social mission to create job opportunities for Nepali women affected by poverty and gender discrimination remains the compass that guides each decision and step they take. They continue to own and operate their own production in Nepal, overseeing all areas to maximize transparency and social impact. Dinadi conducts monthly site visits to local partners in order to ensure that strong ethical and environmental standards are upheld. Every garment is 100% natural, renewable, biodegradable and completely free of plastic pollutants. The brand follows zero waste principles, never throwing away extra yarn that can be repurposed. Their approach to slow fashion is to design thoughtfully and with longevity in mind. |
